Crain’s New York Business Reports First Top 50 List of Most Outstanding Employers: Featured in November 17th Issue

New York, NY (November 18, 2008) – Studio Daniel Libeskind is excited to announce that it has been named one of Crain’s New York Business’ “Best Places to Work in New York City 2008.”  This is the first year that such a list has been compiled in New York City and Studio Daniel Libeskind is proud to be among the inaugural year’s honorees.  SDL placed 45th overall and 13th within the small business category out of over 300 companies which took part in the nomination process.  The list appears in this week’s November 17, 2008 issue.

To achieve the rankings in the Top 50 list Crain’s partnered with Quantum Market Research to conduct 25,399 surveys of employees at over 300 New York City companies.  The survey measured such things as: how much the employees feel valued, whether they trust the leadership of their company and whether they see potential for personal advancement.  Job perks were also an important factor on the list; for example Studio Daniel Libeskind stood out for flying the entire studio to grand openings of new building projects.

Crain’s New York Business picked the 50 finalists to represent a diverse range of New York-based industries, including architecture, engineering, technology, hospitality and real estate.  Lockton Companies, LLC, an insurance broker, took the coveted first place, followed by Alison Brod Public Relations and Village Pourhouse, a Bar and Restaurant. 

In addition to a ranking of the top 50 companies, this week's Crain's also lists the top ten companies in three categories, according to company size: Small companies, with up to 149 employees; mid-sized companies, with 150 to 499 employees; and large companies, with 500 or more employees.  Studio Daniel Libeskind ranked 13th within the small business category.

A sample of 2008 winners includes the Microsoft Corporation, Silverstein Properties, the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Chelsea Piers Sports and Entertainment Complex and Cushman & Wakefield.
