LIBESKIND SIGNATURE SERIES TO GET FIRST HOME IN DATTELN, GERMANY

Daniel Libeskind’s signature series, the “The Villa,” is well under way at the headquarters of Rheinzink, the manufacturer of the Villa’s zinc-clad exterior, in Datteln, Germany.  Major progress has been made to construct the first Villa in the series, available to the public beginning May 2009. This is Libeskind’s first signature series, which will allow homebuyers worldwide to own a home designed by the renowned architect.

The public in Datteln is already excited, as locals, visitors, architects, and Rheinzink customers have begun to crowd the site regularly.  TV coverage of the Villa’s progress has also helped make the project local news.  For a city that has felt the weight of the current downturn, the Villa is a motivating site to behold, signaling investment in Rheinzink’s future and the future economy of Datteln.
