Tel Aviv, Israel
Oriya Tel Aviv represents a new residential brand being created in Israel by American Colony Real Estate Development. Inspired by the rich history of Israel, this building will create a new skyline for the city of Tel Aviv and, paired with its partner building in Jerusalem, will redefine the standards of living in Israel.
Tel Aviv Residential Tower is located at the northern border of Neve-tzedek, the old town of Tel Aviv. The curvilinear form of the building is inspired by the curves of Tel Aviv Bauhaus architecture. The massing is broken in two so that no facade is completely in shadow at any time of day. THe facades facing Neve-tzedek are blended to the residences there, which are mostly short buildings with vertical windows along narrow streets. The thirty storey tower includes four double-storey units with garden terrace, a three-level penthouse, lobby, spa, cafe, gym, and pool deck.
Based around the intimate relationship between the Jewish people and the land of Israel, Oriya sends an important message, the building block of its brand: “touching the soul to fulfill a dream.”
Daniel Libeskind’s own personal history is deeply entwined with Israel as it was the first place he called home after escaping anti-Semitism in Poland. He thus created two projects with deep soul and rich cultural significance. Oriya is not just about living spaces. Oriya is about history, roots, neighborhood, musical rhythm and spiritual energy. Oriya is about re-defining the living standards in Israel, bringing the international level of lifestyle and pushing the limits of architectural design. Oriya is about bringing two cities – Jerusalem and Tel Aviv – into the 21st Century by creating the bridge between roots and modernity.
“Sometimes, the light that comes from the deepest of my heart inspires an idea… What an extraordinary thing that light, so strange and yet so powerful at the same time… Light is divine.”
-Daniel Libeskind
